Food Photography

Well this is new to me.
Here you can see my first two dishes that I've shot for an assignment.
These dishes are for a school project that's due on Monday :)

On the first one my father in law Chef Valli was my food stylist

Fór með pabba á Landsspítalann í dag ásamt Matta frænda. Þar fengum við góðar fréttir. Meðferðin hafði borið góðann árangur og æxlið er á undanhaldi. Nánar þó verður fylgst með gamla næstu mánuði. Og ég fylgi alltaf með og skráset allt með myndavélinni.

I went with my father and his brother to see my fathers doctor today. There we got very good news. The radiation and chemo therapy was successful and the cancer is barely there anymore. The doctors will monitor him closely for the next months and I will be there with my camera to document the whole thing.

I shot this frame of my father last Tuesday in our weekly portrait session.

Long time no use

My father

This is Lýður Ægisson and he is my father. For a while now he has been my number one project. In late 2010 he was diagnosed with cancer in his left lung, left kidney, liver and brain. He went through radiation and chemo and the cancer gave in. But earlier this year the cancer came back but only in the lung. That's when I started my documentation. Now he has finished his second radiation and chemo therapy. Now we just have to wait until he gets an CT scan in September This is an recovery frame since last Tuesday. If you look closely you can see that his beard is coming back :) My project is like his recovery is far from over and we will continue to fight and document his life every step of the way.
