N.k laugardag, 26 maí opnar vorsýning 1 árs nema Ljósmyndaskólans og verður hún opin til 3 júní.
Þemað mitt er sjómennskan og fór ég veiðiferð á snurvoð með m/b Maggý VE 108 frá Vestmannaeyjum. Myndin hér að neðan er ein af þeim 21 mynd sem að ég verð með á sýningunni.

Me and my fellow 1st year students @Ljosmyndaskolinn are opening an annual spring exhibition on our final photography projects on Saturday may 26th. It will be open till jun 3rd. My theme was fishery and I went on a ship called Maggý VE 108 from Vestmannaeyjar islands. The following pic is one of 21 pics I have on display at the exhibition.

Heimaey Siluettes

These pics are of my hometown's mountains and harbor on Heimaey of Vestmannaeyjar islands. Taken from the ferry Herjólfur when I was on my way to shoot my final school project for this semester few days ago.

Hvalfjörður

For century's Fin whales were hunted in Iceland. But in 1986 that all changed. The International Whale Commission banned all whaling around the world. The following pictures were taken on my trip with two of my fellow students up to Hvalfjörður.

Until the 1980s, one of the biggest whaling stations in Iceland was located in this fjord. In the past the fjord also contained a large number of herring fisheries.
During World War II, a naval base of the British and American navies could be found in this fjord. One of the piers built by the United States Navy was later used by the Hvalur whaling company, until commercial whaling was shut down in the 1980s.
